Yes, Checkhov's gun, realistic stuttering breaks the immersion and disrupts the pacing and makes scenes drag or feel disjointed. Fluent dialogue is easier for the audience to process and stuttering uses a lot of brain power from the viewers. Fluent speech also creates characters that audiences can easily identify with, stuttering dilutes the emotions displayed in a movie
