I’m sorry that happened to you. I can def relate to that feeling. So I took an HR class where we were interviewed by 4 hiring managers back to back for a class assignment. One of them I clicked with so I asked her “off the record” after the interview if disclosing my stutter would be in my benefit and work against me. She said “off the record” if it were between me and another person neck and neck, and I mentioned that, she’d choose the other person. Again, my stutter is mild in small settings, so she said she didn’t even know unless I told her. It seems this is a grey area. Even though they can’t, I believe some bias works against us, and they just bet on the fact you won’t be able to prove discrimination.
