Tiring because I chose nearly every word that came out of my mouth and became a walking thesaurus to avoid (as best I could) my “Bad Words.” This worked(ish), but I still had days where I was struggling no matter what I tried - especially if I had a failure in my script. It was only later that I realized I was doing a “pigeon logic” approach, where I had to perform ever increasing rituals of breathing and tongue and lip contorting in order to speak. This informal approach wound up condition my speaking and was pointless because I would have to add more steps for more cases, because my “bad word/sound” list would change. It was in my late 40s where I would abandon that approach and would focus on fluency enhancing strategies - drop the drill sergeant projecting speech, work on breathing air past my vocal folds before speaking, find a higher tone of speaking, make light contact with my tongue and lips, and speak slightly slower than typical.
