It will be less awkward the next time, and the time after that. You have to accept your going to stutter in front of people. The more you do it, the less fear and shame you will have, and the less you will stutter. It's sort of a conundrum but from my experience the only way to beat this disorder is through self acceptance - which starts with openly stuttering until it is less awkward.
