The pathological state (the stuttering) comes up when talking to other people and not when alone. Hypoactivation or reduced blood flow at rest don't mean that a person cannot talk fluently when alone. And I did not say irreversible, I said not irreversible (so reversible, excuse the double negative). My point is exactly that people can learn fluency. I'm not saying there's something fundamentally wrong with us. But I'm saying that for the most of us, if we would be really honest with ourselves, we would be lying if we said we did not want to be able to talk fluently. Otherwise we would not be on this sub trying to look for explanations.
