A great day Today started out as any other day. Went to work, had some blocks but overall it was an alright day. I was stressed overall about looking for a job with a stutter.. stuff like that. After work I decided to dive deeper on little things that I can do to help improve my speech. I wrote down a bunch of strategies and techniques that can help me in all aspects of my speech. I then took about 20-25 minutes to practice what I learned. One of the things that I’m doing is stepping out of my comfort zone every day. For today I decided to call 2 food places and ask “if they still have the .... meal deal” , and “..... wondering how late you guy are open”. (Along those lines) The first place I called I got stuck on “still” and I used one of my strategies that I JUST wrote down and it actually got me through the block nicely. The second place I called, while the phone was wringing I was remembering the strategies, and when he picked up I asked him the question with NO BLOCKS. I just wanted to share because for the first time in a long time I feel like I’m learning how to control my stutter. Thanks for all the support recently everyone. It’s so great to hear everyone’s stories. I bet everyone can relate to most of them. ❤️
