You do have a lot of courage! It's hard to leap in like that! Your kids are lucky to have you. I taught too for four years, and now I'm in law school (also a stutterer) so I feel ya on the possible masochism. Worth it though. Hardest for me was pronouncing individual words on cue when I taught ESL - my quick-fix was asking the student to try first, then repeating it correctly right after. Check out Parry's Valsalva hypothesis method (he's got lots of info on his site, and a $35 book). It's about relaxing your core when you block - might be helpful and actually functionally replace the clicking.
