Bad experience at work!

Bad experience at work! I had a bad experience of work because of my stutter and it’s stuck with me ever since even though i quit the job. Basically, i used to work at Greggs (a bakery chain in the UK). I would serve people at the till and i was supposed to ask customers if they were “eating in or taking away” before anything else because that’s the first option on the screen of the till. However, i never did because i always always stuttered when saying it and customers wouldn’t understand me so i always just pressed “take away” to make it easier for both me and the customer. Fair enough i wasn’t supposed to do this, so my manager one day called me out on it and said i HAVE to ask customers if they’re eating in or taking away, and she stands beside me while i take orders to make sure im asking them. I try to ask the first customer if they’re eating in or taking away but i can’t stop stuttering on it every single time, and the customer can’t understand me so i just pressed “take away” because i didn’t wanna repeat myself for the millionth time. My manager noticed i still wasn’t asking customers this because of my stutter and this whole issue was making me miserable. I ended up quitting the job because of various other issues on the job but this is just one of the difficulties that having a stutter can bring. just wanted to vent :/
