Is it worth getting help and does it work?

Is it worth getting help and does it work? I’ve been going back and forth about getting help all my life and with my stutter but been so back and forth with it. I just want to know if it truly works? Just because I’ve never met someone with a stutter. Like speech therapy and all that? I just wanna get help and be successful because I know if I go and it doesn’t work then I will be honestly a bit upset. But I definitely would try my hardest of getting help does work.
