Big +1, it was doing this that robbed my stutter of it's power. I allowed myself the humanity to express my annoyance at it and even the humor in it. Blocking is annoying, getting stuck on one single word, is absurd - life is funny like that and anybody who can't admit that is insecure. I found owning "I stutter" directly led to people giving me more space to speak, more patience - which led to me feeling less pressure, which led to less stuttering. It also helped that I got older and subsequently was around more mature people. Kids can be assholes, but sometimes a stutter can be a great bait for those assholes to filter thenselves out. Life's too short to suffer shitty people.
