Some people are more biologically wired to feel/notice/believe they are being ridiculed, making your very true advice a very difficult process. and the temporary failures to “let it go” can induce further waves of shame. significantly impactful stuttering behaviors (heavy avoidances, long blocks, breaking eye contact, etc) are ultimately *just* about self-loathing.
