Has anyone else stuttered in front of the entire class, or had a similar experience? When I was 17 in theater class, I was giving a 1 minute monologue for a speech in front of the class. I thought I did good despite stuttering and forgetting some of the lines. A couple of days later the teacher said I had to go again because I made a C. The entire class was there this time so everyone heard me stutter and fuck up the lines. People clapped when I was done but I felt they did it out of pity. I constantly think about other ways it could’ve played out, like having a backbone and saying no, cussing out the teacher, or potentially stabbing him if he got in my face about it. I still think about this event 8 years later. If you’ve gone through something similar, how did you cope?
