I’m with you. I never tell people I stutter and I think it’s generally a bad idea to do so. Immediately when a person hears you have a speech disability, you are “mapped” in their brain as inferior. Consciously or subconsciously doesn’t matter, it still happens. That’s why we get pitied or made fun of or uncomfortable silence. I’d rather not feel “less than” a regular dumbass human. If I can’t speak fluently, I’ll keep my mouth shut. It’s a man eat man world. Good luck out there!
