Good stuff! I did the same thing. I'm now at a point where I hardly care if anybody hears it anymore. Also, when you disclose it to other people, they often tend to see this as a perfect opportunity to HELP. People love to feel good about themselves by helping others. So when you say: "Hey, I have a stutter, so I might come across such and such" you're essentially *asking* them to help you by being patient and kind. It gives people the feeling they can do something good - so that they can feel good about themselves. Know what I mean? I've had great responses from people by disclosing it. Transcend the fear, live more freely. It'll help your speech more than if you don't overcome this fear. Good luck!
