My speech therapist mentioned this to me and taught me a technique called "stretching" All you do stretch the first letter of the word you're trying to say to gently ease into speaking. For ex. The sentence "I like pizza" would sound like iiiiiiiiiii like pizza. I've adopted and modified this technique to work for me, and while it's not 100% effective, it's drastically improved my confidence when speaking. I don't always sing the first letter of every word now, because I've modified my speech to say/sing "ugh/umm" instead. If you haven't had speech therapy I highly recommend it. It won't cure you're stutter, but it will teach you techniques and mechanisms that make living with a stutter a little more bearable.
