"The more you feel like you don't belong, the more you are going to present a fake version of yourself." \-> I think I understand you, but I think 'fear' isn't so much the problem. You can't blame a system feeling, it will only feed the monster. Regarding belonging, one identifies oneself with the trigger. So one believes that his anticipation: "I will stutter now" is true, and is his own personal thought. He truly believes he will stutter, because he thinks the trigger belongs to him and justifies a causal relationship. In this way 'belonging' is attaching importance. The goal is to detach importance in order to stop expecting a stutter.
