I’ve stutter my entire life. As a child I was so afraid to speak, folks thought I was a mute. Stuttering always felt like it had a hold on me. One day I decided I won’t let this hold me back in life. So I got a job selling shoes. Forced me to speak every single day. It was hard, not sure why/how I even got the job, but I was determined to be the best dang salesman there. And I was, I was good at it very good. The longer I worked there, my confidence grew and I started to notice I stuttered less and less. I am now 40 years old. I work in corporate training. Training folks on how to use software. Yes, I still stutter from time to time , but it doesn’t control me anymore. This stutter does not define who I am and it shouldn’t define you either. I know it’s difficult but taking that first initial step is the hardest. Say yes to that opportunity, ask that girl/guy you like out, apply for that job you want. Everything after will fall into place. I promise. 😊
