I'm thankful work forces me to socialize. There's something of a work shield you get when you have to do things for the job. You're not trying to impress anyone or be attractive, you're just trying to do the job and get the thing you're after, so it seems like less of an anxious situation. At least in my experience. Shame that your mom doesn't understand stuttering. That's an annoying myth. It's like focusing on being a taller person.
