I personally think it’s identity-related, and came up with this hypothesis on my own, I believe. Any time you say your name, it creates a sudden realization that you exist in the moment. In which you then question your’s or your listener’s safety in that moment. And measure yourself according to your’s and your listeners’ values in that moment. When there is a disconnect in your ideal social behavior and what you feel is happening in the moment, your realization of your identity brings that to the light, and we are too sensitive to it. Identity is a difficult thing to recognize. Because you are consciously recognizing your power and autonomy, and ability to have positive and negative effects on the world. And that realization is difficult for some people to bear. And thus it triggers stuttering. You’re afraid to be the hero, but you’re afraid to be the villain. You’re afraid to be the success, but also afraid to be a failure. All this combines together and makes it so that no matter what, you can’t accept your identity. It creates some type of ultra conflicting shit-whip on your mind and body body. It doesn’t mean that you necessarily aren’t proud of yourself. It just means that you don’t embrace your potential for good and evil, greatness and mistakes in social interactions. On accident or on purpose. You may be proud of yourself while alone and there is stillness and quiet in your mind, but social interactions have so many moving parts that you go in an out of being proud of yourself, but also confused and not embracing the moment. I know this is abstract but try to think about it. I could try to provide examples later.
