I know it’s a hypothetical, but the issue is the desperation there. I wouldn’t even hypothetically compromise my financial stability over that. If there ever existed a treatment to “cure” stuttering completely, I guess I would take it if I could comfortably afford it, but I wouldn’t mess my finances up over it, not even in my imagination.
