There are social studies that show that people who have speech disfluency, like stuttering, lisps or even broken speech (people who cannot speak a different language fluently) etc are viewed as unintelligent. Speech dislfuency/disability is one of the disabilities that have such little research, empathy and one that is still deemed 'ok' to discriminate against in social society. In my opinion as someone with a speech disability, we aren't serial killers and we aren't stupid. Speech disabilities are grossly misunderstood and villanised to such a weird state, I seriously cannot understand the links people with speech fluency make. It's simply ableist. I want you all to know you're not bad people, we are just people who speak differently, and different isn't wrong.
