1. Desensitize yourself to hearing yourself stutter. Find friends you can be open to and talk about your struggles with. Someone you can ask to be patient when you do stutter and allow you to find your way through it would be perfect. 2. Regain your self-esteem. You don't have to identify with your stutter. Think of yourself as a person persevering despite this seemingly external obstacle in your way. You made it here to post, which is a good sign. :) 3. If you happen to meet someone you like who's mutually interested, tell her you stutter! being able to approach vulnerability is attractive. Imagine if someone told you they struggle with (arbitrary example) making eye contact and they don't want to come off as cold. Things will be different, but their communication is trusting and endearing. It's not as much of a turn-off as you'd think, and in my experience when you can take that step forward and be open about it, it almost entirely ceases to be an issue.
