Bad image of people Hello, I just went to a regular therapist again (who used to stutter) and these things we talked about could help you. We started of with stress levels, she said it's a cycle: you are scared of stuttering so you avoid it and then you feel good because you didn't stutter but that only reaffirms your thoughts that stuttering is bad wich starts the cycle again. A little later she asked my to write down my ground fear, why I'm scared of stuttering and mine was "I'm scared people my age will find it weird and reject me if I stutter too much" so she asked me to write down my stress level if that would happen (mine was 9.5) and then she asked me again but replaced the word weird with "different" do my stress level went to a 7.5 so it lowers with just a single word change. She also said that's just my suspicion since at least for me that never really happend so it's just irrational with no proof. On the end of the session after some talking she said I just have a really negative world view and think people will immediately find the worst in you but then She asked if I'd reject someone for being in a wheel chair, I said no. She then said that I'm and average person and that over 90% of people will not make fun of you and that If they do its not your fault and they just have a crappy personality. So as "homswork"she asked me to question my believes and that I should try change my perception of people at least a bit..
