I sort of reached this point with the help of therapy (CBT). After a few home assignments (practiced calling, practiced asking strangers on the street and what not) we ended up agreeing I should give a short presentations to a few of his colleagues. They did not know in advance that I stammered. It might have been that they were therapists, and that it was the whole point of the exercise but the general input they gave about my presentation had nothing to do with the fact that I stammered (which and did and do quite a bit). They actually commented on the contents of my presentation. When we got into the stammering part, it was mainly said that it really didn't matter, that they at first reacted to it, like okay, he stammers, but then they just didn't care about it, it was much more interesting hearing about my subject. I got my current job thanks to a, according to me, horrible job interview. The thing is that I only based that judgement on the amount I stammered, not on what I really said. Even though it will take some time, and not seem worth it at first, trying out CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy) can really help. **TLDR:** Tried CBT, really helped me out. Made me realize that I myself put much more focus on my stammering than other people do, rather than what I actually say.
