Stuttering affecting my future career. Hello everyone! I am currently going to school to become a future health care practitioner. I am feeling like success is far away as I am finding it harder and harder to speak the “scientific” language when talking with patients and classmates. For example, new words like “spondylolisthesis” and other big words get me stuck when trying to communicate a diagnosis. I’ve spent my life trying to go past my fears and bypass the limitations of speech. During class and practicals I feel like people view me as incompetent even though I have all the answers in my brain but can’t get it out. Just trying to find someone that can relate in some sort of context. Thanks again everyone, I’ve felt so alone with stuttering until this page.
