I would never wish a stutter upon anyone. I hate having a stutter. It is embarrassing. I hate the looks people give, or other people finishing my words, or the little smirks when it happens. When I was younger, my stutter was pretty bad, but I worked to become as fluent as possible. I will admit I sound like a bit weird with my sometimes halting cadence, but I am now a college instructor. I routinely stand in front of a room full of people and talk. I love that. My students respect my knowledge and rarely has it ever been brought up. I know it sucks to stutter, but I'm glad a was born, even with a stutter. I'm not going to try to give you saccharine words that sound like they come from a motivational poster. I will say this: it could be worse. Now work, try, and overcome this. Yeah you may never be a radio host and you might always get those snide comments and smirks when people notice, but the people who care about you won't care about your stutter. You are more than your stutter.
