They don't but in their ignorance they're also right. They don't understand how all-consuming the problem can be for stutterers, because from their perspective and in the grand scheme of things, it's not a big problem. No one else cares that you stutter, but it can seem bigger than the universe to you. It's just something you have to come to realize yourself and change your own perspective.
