Well, you know, stutter _is_ a problem. It's the reason we have communities like this, and it's the reason we keep hanging out and discussing it with a bunch of people. Stutter is _difficult_. It'll keep being difficult - but that doesn't mean we can't improve our lives in various ways. • One of those ways is (_proper_) speech therapy - yes indeed. It can help us get through the difficult spots easier. It can give us tools so we're more prepared for the stuttering we experience. Some think the goal is 'fluency', but it's not best thought of that way. It's best thought of as getting good at handling the things that appear, such that we have an easier time speaking. All those difficult spots are the focus - and not just running away from it all and somehow landing up in fluency land. The difficuly is our base, and the therapy can help us reside there with more ease. • Another of those ways is the "feelings" part of it all. This seems to be more like the path you're searching for. Our emotional reactions to our stutter, both when it happens, and to its presence in general, is definitely something that we can work to improve, if we're in the gutter each time or all the time. Or even just to remind us that we're something beyond the stutter as well - some people tend to get trapped in the bad moods they've gotten into. It's important to be able to detect such fixation and look for all those things in life that _aren't_ a stutter. - Those ways can interact, too. It can be easier for you to use the benefits of (proper) speech therapy if you're also handling your moods. Conversely, you can get to a better mood if you're having success with managing your stutter. But you know, people expect or feel different things. Stuttering becomes intricate bundles with each of us, with history and weight. We can speak of the general takes on what we might do differently, but there's always an individual conversation taking place. Perhaps you mean to find your own solution in the ways you've been thinking about it. Maybe it'll work out great! Just be sure to keep checking out other routes as well, just so you don't construct an unnecessarily narrow path for yourself. Some improvement is perhaps best sought outside of the stuttering area completely - lots of us could probably benefit from therapy in general. Some of us might also benefit from medicine. Or who knows, maybe even just a different lifestyle!...
