The only other “research” I’ve found that could help is medicine, but antipsychotics could have significant adverse effects that could debilitate you like Parkinsonism, or tardive dyskinesia. Someone on here said 5-htp works for them. I guess it’s tryptophan that converts into serotonin. I haven’t messed with any pharmaceuticals. I went to nursing school at 36 because I was afraid I couldn’t speak to patients / nurses/ doctors, and mostly everyone is really patient and nice about it. Another piece of advice is, the Reddit community who stutters says just learn to love it because it’s you. I am trying to embrace that and it helps when I’m having disfluency because it almost tricks my brain in a way. But the modeling helped me, especially while reading out loud.
