Yes. Stuttering changed the course of my life. After university, I dreaded a career in mental health because who would trust a person who could speak fluently? Fortunately, I married well and didn't HAVE to have a career until I really wanted one, when my children were older. Then I felt too embarrassed to supervise others. I felt they looked down on me because of my handicap. I didn't have to work so I quit. I always wondered what I might have been if I had the confidence of a fluent person. You, please don't waste your life with regrets. The world is much more inclusive now than when I thought I'd never succeed years ago. At 70 I finally became fluent. It is possible. Think how much farther along in your career field you’ll be when you master your speech. Don't be too scared to try. Best of luck, Sue
