The “aaa” is similar to a gentle outward breath but only if “aaa” is not a feared word/sound. Speaking on a gentle outflow of air is how non-stutters talk. Pronouncing words longer and slower is simply riding the relaxed outflow of air, which works as long as you don’t scan words or run out of air and start pushing. I don’t recommend it except maybe very earlier on, it can sound awkward and creates more self consciousness. A gentle outflow of air and ride it through the sentence until… then take another and repeat. The rest is unnecessary IMO.
