Fellow Canadian here, I agree. Most of the "Canadians are so polite!" Is just nonsense to make us feel smug lol. I found that in certain contexts disclosing that I stutter has helped, although many more ignorant people understand stuttering as a minor temporary interruption in speech for an otherwise fluent person. Very frustrating haha
