Everyone at work thinks I'm a rude, pushy liar because they don't know how to read a stutterer. I had to get an ADA form just to have my phone anxiety while still actively answering phones stop impacting my performance ratings. I have been accused of not taking criticism, interrupting and being "too loud" but I'm no louder than many of my colleagues. I had to get HR seriously involved because my boss was ruining my life basically. People with far less qualifications are given far more responsibility and more benefits than I ever will gain in spite of having more experience and being much more reliable. I'm over 35 and they treat me like I'm a 16yo at my first job but I am state and nationally certified to do my job. I just found out today that a girl who bosses me around got hired without holding any of the certifications I was told I needed to have to be hired. If I could go back I would focus more effort on being my own boss or having a reliable small business when I was younger. I have given up stress about being respected, it's a waste of energy to sit around anticipating respect that will never come. I have to use words like DUDE and other words sophisticated people hate. Frankly peppering my language with profanity helps my fluency but I can't do thatfuckinbullshit at work.
