Stuttering is a disability. That’s why we qualify for certain benefits from insurance and government programs. I had my speech therapy paid for by an adults with disabilities program. I think its counter productive to try and pretend like it’s not as debilitating as other disabilities. It is an obstacle we have to over come in order to enjoy the same quality of life a person who does not stutter have.
