[DISCUSSION] Should I follow up a job application with a phone call, even though I stutter horribly on the phone? Hello! I just recently turned 18 and I'm trying to get literally any job at this point. I've applied to over 150 places with like 6 interviews, so I know that my town is a problem. However, my mother keeps telling me that I should call to follow up with a job application. I strongly disagree with this. I stutter far worse on the phone than anywhere else, so if I call and sound like a bumbling fool who can't even talk (and keep in mind that these are mostly customer service jobs), that would just dissuade potential employers. There's also the option of following up by email, which I would love to do, but most stores don't seem to have an email set up that would reach a manager.
