I’ve got a son (12) who has a stutter (we say stammer in Uk?) and life has been a challenge for him (and me as like you I’m up most nights stressing about him). I do not stammer and I feel so awful for him (although he wouldn’t know this as I’ve always remained positive for him). School life has been miserable for him and still is, to get him to go to school is a challenge. However, he’s a confident lad and most teachers are in awe that he will stand up and speak in front of a class. Unfortunately kids his age aren’t the kindest and we’ve not met anyone his age with a stammer. As a fellow parent I will say just remain positive give your daughter all the time to speak and just be there when she needs you. My son has been both to speech and language therapists as well as normal therapists, in all fairness I’m not sure if it’s made much difference but maybe it will one day. Lastly be strong for your daughter don’t let her see you sad for her. Hope fully one day they will be adults and life will be full of more mature empathic understanding people 😊
