A few drinks makes me more fluent too. It Seems like alcohol isn't the fix. It's the reduction in social anxiety that's helping. Alcohol is just the relaxer. You may not even realise you are anxious or tense but clearly there's a change when you loosen up a little from drinking. My advice is learn ways to reduce your anxiety. I meditate for a few minutes each day when I notice my stutter is worse then usual. It isn't immediate but if definitely has a positive affect. Also make yourself do things that make you uncomfortable like ordering in drive throughs etc so they become less uncomfortable and you'll find you are less anxious and more fluent in general
