I remember switching schools to go to highschool when I was a freshman and being terrified. The first day of class we had to introduce ourselves. I was so nervous I could barely say my name when asked. I developed severe anxiety, went into a depressive state, and became conditioned to get nervous in situations I previously did not. These conditioned responses still affect me today 7 years later (ie: being asked to read aloud or introduce myself). If I can offer any advice, it'd be to grab the bull by the horns and take this experience head on. Don't retreat inwards and become a recluse among your peers like I did. It made for a very terrible and isolated freshman year. On the bright side, by my sophomore year, I became more social, got more comfortable in the school, and started making lots of friends. I graduated highschool with tons of friends, was one of the popular kids, and had a girlfriend. So, my highschool experience wasn't all bad.
