This is going to sound silly but I have various fluency techniques I acquired over the years. They are strong when practicing them to myself. When I step out into the world though, in public, I feel afraid to use them. It's odd but I feel afraid to use my techniques for the same reason I'm afraid to stutter. I'm afraid people are going to notice and think I'm strange if I use a technique to speak. So then it becomes a game with me: Do I stutter or use the technique to speak fluently? Which would I rather have people see? It's a question I wrestle with in my mind every day.
