I'm definitely not gonna give you that bullshit, it makes me laugh to think about it... it's like the kind of advice a bad therapist or a thoughtless non-stutterer would give. Come to think of it, that's like kind of a Turing test for people who stutter. No, I notice the expressions and the faces 100%. When you communicate when you have to of course that's not "winning." Take it or leave it, but for me you win when you're able to express your authentic self. This isn't always easy for us people who stutter, but a big part of just being human is self-expression and having a presence and an influence, and when you sit quietly in the corner afraid of how people will react to you I'd almost be tempted to say you're stripping yourself of personhood. I mean even if we can't always express our authentic selves you might as well try or give them a taste.
