Yeah this is acting and LEO is not feeling the embarrassed of stuttering years after years. If he was experiencing this struggle and embarrassed years after years he would be developing avoiding techniques and tricks, and I guarantee his stuttering wouldn’t be as smooth. I agree it would be great to stutter that way and just flow through with it but very hard to with all the secondary emotions that come with stuttering.
