I've had many opportunities, both personal and professional, whittle away due to my stutter, so I know the feeling. Not to mention the emotional and mental drain. But despite, and inspite of all these, I would never wish to be mute. The moments I have good fluency and can carry on conversations are wonderful, as I usually have a lot to say and contribute. The day would come when it wouldn't matter as much, but hang tight.
