Getting yourself into uncomfortable situations can be extremely helpful in many ways but only if you have thoughts that support and motivate you. For example if your thoughts are “Im going to be ok. I can handle this presentation no matter what. I’m allowed to stutter. I can take my time. I can be good at this and I’m getting better each time.” your thoughts are supportive, you won’t be as scared of such situations as before and you’ll be able to hande them very well. But if you’re thinking “oh no im going to stutter and everyone is gonna look at me funny. Im such a loser and it will show. I hate presentations and hate the stutter...” you’re your worst enemy and can handle presentations with utter fear that’s overwhelming. That can basically be applied into every uncomfortable situations.
