I'm totally with you on this being frustrating. I think it comes back to a misunderstanding of what stuttering (the disorder we have) is. Sure, people are disfluent sometimes. I trip over my words but that's not real stuttering. When real stuttering happens it's like a mind fuck for a split second. Most people don't do that. Sometimes I educate people when they react like that. Sometimes I don't. it just depends on how I feel. At my worst I just ignore them and smile but hate them on the inside
