Up until I was twenty, I stuttered, and that was it. However, over the last twenty-eight years, I’ve been accumulating a fine collection of secondary behaviours. It started with tongue-clicking. I guess my brain felt that wouldn’t suffice, so it introduced me to the absolutely useless leg-tap. Equally useless was the exaggerated eye-blink, mouth twist, foot-tap, rhythmic rock from side-to side, full facial contortion, chin-jut, head-twist, fist-clench, head-bob, genital squeeze, (thankfully rare, but highly embarrassing) weirdo head scratch, knee-bend, hip-gyration, full-lean back, earlobe-grab, pelvic-thrust, (also kind of pervy) head-rotation, and finally, literal cocksucker’s cramp. I don’t know how old you are, but I wish you the best of luck to not end up like me… Although, my secondaries are the only part of my stuttering in which I can find humour, so there’s that…
