Speech therapy can do wonders. I always\* advocate for speech therapy. (\*but for you, IDK.) I don't know anything about late onset stuttering, such as you describe. The first thing that comes to mind is stress. Then I start asking what might cause stuttering to develop so late in life (I'm not expecting you to answer, just sharing a train of thought.) Any recent life changes? Are you taking care of your health? New meds or supplements? Drug use? Anything from your past burrowing it's way to the surface? Unhappy in your marriage? Head injury - now or in the past? I would consider getting an evaluation with a neurologist. Make sure nothing physiological is developing. Speech therapy is certainly an option. It helped me achieve fluency. But I was a severe stutterer since early childhood. Found fluency through speech therapy in my mid 20s. Not all speech therapy program are equal. Many of us have experienced bad speech therapists. I wish I could give guidance on finding a good speech therapist. That's beyond my experience / skillset. Again, *I don't know anything about late onset stuttering.* Best of luck. We're always happy to answer questions or provide support.
