I just finished drafting a college essay on the same topic about a week ago too! There are many different facets to this topic, but I think it's crucial to portray your speech impediment as either a strength or a means to personal growth, rather than merely a disability. As someone already stated, stuttering is a mentor of compassion, patience, and listening. Because we know what it feels like to be made fun of and ignored, many of us share that empathetic perspective. Another lesson could focus on self-acceptance too. When I went to speech therapy, the main goal was to eliminate "avoidance behaviors" and feelings of shame/embarrassment while stuttering. Detailing how you confront this inescapable issue can generally reveal a lot about your character.
