dude, yeah. i used to be a serious biter. i had an interview once for a professorship, and the inside of my mouth was so raw and bloody afterwards, my mouth was in serious pain for like a week afterwards, maybe more. all i gotta say is that in our minds we think it shortens the time of the block, but it's maybe a millisecond, and it's a painful reminder of the stutter. one of the big things i've been trying to do is stutter in a non-painful way (as in, stop the biting!). i have to admit, i'm glad to hear i'm not the only dude who is doing or has done this. even for a stutterer, i thought it was crazy to start down this habit. it does somehow miraculously make the block end.
