There was a character in the recent starwars movie trilogy named "DJ" who had a stutter. Although he didn't get a lot of screen time I did wonder why his character had to have a stammer? I felt like the stammer was being used to create an image of this character being shady/weird which didn't sit well with me at the time, it doesn't really sit well with me now tbh. I just don't really know what to think of it. A lot of articles wrote about the character and the actors performance, saying the stutter aided in the shadiness and weirdness of the character - I think it just further shows the general negative associations people link to stuttering. Stuttering is just a different way of speech, it's not a tool to create a negative and untrustworthy image.
