I’m with you that talking slower doesn’t help at all, in fact sometimes talking fast helps me get all the words out before a stutter can happen. If it’s bothering you enough to make this post, then you definitely have a stutter. I suppose in school speech therapy just as a benchmark about who to prioritize services for. But it’s common for stuttering to happen in certain situations and not others, even counter-intuitively… some people can act on stage and not stutter at all, but stutter a lot in normal conversation.
